Keep up to date with the latest from artistcareer.com.au
RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is an easy way to stay current with the latest news and information from artistcareer.com.au about private sector support for the arts. RSS delivers news and analysis from across the Web directly to you via a piece of software called a news reader, or aggregator. News readers eliminate the hassle of visiting each site individually.
How to access RSS feeds
The first thing you need to do is install a news reader. These come in several forms: Some are Web-based and only need an Internet connection; others are desktop-based clients that require you to download special software. Popular RSS readers that are compatible with Windows include Newsgator, FeedDemon, Awasu, Pluck and NewzCrawler; for Macintosh users, popular choices are NewsFire and NetNewsWire. Some Web browsers, like Firefox, Safari 2.0, and Opera, offer built-in RSS functions. If you already have a My Yahoo! personalized Web page, you can add your RSS feeds directly to that. Once you've installed your reader, adding RSS feeds is easy. Start by locating the RSS feeds you want (see our list above). Some news readers will automatically add your RSS feeds when you click on the orange button; others require you to copy and paste the URL of the RSS feed into your reader. In the second case, click on the orange RSS or XML button, copy the URL of the page, and paste it into your reader. Or right-click on the link, select "copy shortcut," and then paste the information into your reader. Check with the reader you choose for more detailed directions on adding new feeds.
