Handles

Another area that can really make a big difference, says Amy, is door and cabinet handles. Don't pay to have your whole front door replaced, when a new lock and doorknob is all you need. Give kitchen cabinets a thorough clean and replace the old handles with simple chrome knobs or rose gold handles to make a statement.

Soft Furnishings

Amy's next tip to freshen up your interior decor for spring, is to head to the bedroom. Before you rip up the carpet and buy new furniture, assess your bedding. Doona covers and pillows with busy patterns or lots of frills and lace can weigh a room down. A clean, white quilt cover and pillow case set is a cheap option to brighten up the room and make it look fresh for the warmer months.

Paint

Amy's last tip for our spring decor update is to pick up the paintbrush. The bathroom is a great place to start. Having dated-looking tiles and ceramic bathtubs or sinks repainted in neutral tones is a much cheaper alternative than having your bathroom retiled and refitted. Replacing some old towels is a great finishing touch - a neat stack of striped beach towels on a shelf gives a great summery vibe.
